What credit cards are in the wallets of the richest of the rich? Today we will introduce top 5 most exclusive credit cards in the world. You won’t own such one no matter how rich you are, only when you receive invitation from credit card bank.
1. American Express’ Centurion Card (Black card)
Clearly it’s a card by invite only, American Express has kept their lips sealed about the cardholders. We are positive some of worlds wealthiest families and celebrities have received the black titanium rectangle.
The privileges, as expected, are many. The exclusive card gives you access to luxurious airline services and super premium hotels and restaurants worldwide. For example, if you want reservations in a restaurant with a six-month waiting list, it helps if you own that piece of titanium. Or, if you want a last-minute first class airline ticket, flash your black card. Bank on receiving invites to private cultural events and having access to personal shoppers at major retailers.
Known as the “black card”, the AMEX charge card offers a $1,650,000 credit limit but the annual fees are set at $4150 with a $3290 joining fee.But you get one only if you are on the list. Though I must add, you need pay off at least $250,000 worth of purchases every year.
2. JPMorgan Chase Palladium Card
The JPMorgan Chase Palladium Card is definitely one of the most exclusive cards around. Granted it’s justified considering it’s made of 23-karat gold.
Concierge and airport lounge access is a given but you are also entitled to special deals on private jet services and upgrades at luxury hotels.
Would you pay a staggering $7,500 for a credit card? $5,000 is the initiation fee while the renewal fee is at $2,500. Even you are willing to dish out this hefty amount each year, getting the card isn’t that easy. “If you happen to have an extra $25 million that you are willing to let JPMorgan Chase manage for you, you can get the card.” says Bloomberg.
3. Dubai First Royal Mastercard
If you live in the UAE and want an exclusivity, then this will be right up your alley. The actual card is made with gold and has an embedded diamond (albeit a very small one) and like the AmEx Centurion, there is no pre-set spending limit.
How to qualify? Initially it was only offered to Dubai First bank’s 200 wealthiest customers. That was back in 2008 and it’s unknown how many cardmembers there are now, but it is undoubtedly still one of the most exclusive. In 2011 Dubai First Bank started listing the card on its website. Previously, they were very hush-hush about it. It seems there’s no annual fee, since the typical cardholder is an oil tycoon with a net worth in the 9 figures, sometimes even 10 figures (in other words, the bank makes enough money off these clients, so they don’t charge them for the card).
4. Citibank Ultima Card
There are only about 1,000 people in HongKong given the privilege to flash this by-invitation-only credit card. It charges an annual fee of HKD 23,800 with mysterious annual salary requirement. Stopped sending out invitation since this year start, its highlighted features include a dedicated Lifestyle Relationship Manager handling your lifestyle needs, great rates for yacht charter services and airport transfer limousine services. The privileged cardholder also gets 120,000 complimentary Asia Miles every year.
5. Coutts World Card
Coutts is one of the world’s oldest banks (founded 1692), and also a private bank. To let you know how exclusive Coutts is, they are the bank of the Queen.
Coutts World card is so exclusive that only 100 people or so have been invited to have one. Basically you need to have millions in assets in order to even begin to qualify for the card.
In order to qualify, besides having millions in assets, you need to have £800,000 in disposable cash, again meaning you’re loaded. If you use the card to charge £80,000 or more each year, the bank will waive the annual fee of £560.
This credit card literally opens doors because it offers a private concierge service that allows you to go shopping at just about any store or shop after hours. I doubt you’d want to use it at the local Tesco or Asda.
This service appears to “assist” you in just about every aspect of your life, from travel plans, shopping, dining out, and even finding someone to do home repairs.
